Xave writes:
" I’ve always had a passion for empowering Black communities through economic development, and I know that to make a true, lasting impact, I must first deepen my education. My goal is to complete a business degree with a focus on Social and Economic Development, followed by a Ph.D. in Business Administration, where I will focus on how Black-owned businesses affect and shape minority communities. My research will focus on how we can use business growth to build generational wealth, prevent our communities from becoming 'forgotten' like many have before, and protect our economic progress from forces that seek to undermine it, as we saw in places like Tulsa’s Black Wall Street.
I have already began creating the Generational Wealth Building Initiative as a cornerstone of my work. This initiative will educate entrepreneurs and business owners on how to build long-lasting wealth, protect their businesses from destructive forces, and support the economic resilience of their communities. By learning from the past and applying sound, sustainable practices, we can ensure that future generations of Black business owners thrive."
